About the Artist
I am a realist wildlife artist whose paintings celebrate the wildlife and wild landscapes of North America. Originally from Texas and now based in Arizona, I work primarily in oil, drawing inspiration from the remarkable diversity of North American mammals and the habitats they call home.
When I am not painting or practicing as a physician, my husband and I explore national parks and wilderness areas, where hiking and wildlife photography provide the inspiration and reference material for my paintings. I am constantly striving to capture not only the physical likeness of the subjects, but also the atmosphere and sense of place that define each encounter with the natural world.
My lifelong appreciation for wildlife and conservation have become an important focus of my artistic practice. I hope that my work encourages appreciation of North American wildlife and conservation.
